PRODUCTION TEAM/TEACHERS Producer& Owner: Urmi Batavia Director: Antonia Botti-Lodovico Ass. Director: Fugi Sisca

EXPECTATIONS FOR STUDENTS • Participate in role given with utmost enthusiasm and commitment. • Wear Appropriate rehearsal attire, including easy to move in clothes and CLOSED toed shoes (preferably soft soled dance shoes) • Maintain anything brought to rehearsal (Personal belongings, books, water, etc.) • Come to rehearsal prepared and ON TIME (bring book, pencil, highlighter, and water bottle) • Have a positive and supportive attitude towards teachers, cast mates and other businesses in the building. This means being on ones’ best behavior.

HOW PARENTS CAN SUPPORT STUDENTS • Arrange for students to attend rehearsals regularly & on time & they are prepared for rehearsals • Provide appropriate rehearsal attire and required makeup and costume undergarments for performance and tech week • Ensure students get plenty of rest and nourishment before rehearsal and busy show week. • Be respectful of how hard all teachers, students and families work to make this a smooth, fair and enriching experience. • Observe deadlines that are given by teachers.

ATTENDANCE Attendance is mandatory at all regular rehearsals throughout the program. We cannot stress how important it is that all students are always there. We do understand that you may have one or two days which you may not be there – please note those on the sheet provided at time of registration. We have a lot to coordinate so please be respectful to this and attend as many rehearsals as possible.

Beauty and the Beast students will rehearse twice a week: June 19th – August 9th , Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:15 – 7:45PM at Batavia Music Studios.

We will also have the right to call some main roles from 4:45PM – 5:15PM before regular rehearsal to go over parts. If you are casted as a main role – please keep your times available from 4:45 – 7:45PM. We will give you specific instructions on which days those will be once rehearsals begin. Mandatory Tech week will begin on August 11th–17th.

PERFORMANCES WILL BE ON – Thursday, August 16th, Friday, August 17th, Saturday, August 18th – all evening shows at 7:30PM and matinee show – Sunday, August 19th – 2PM. All students must be at all shows.

REHEARSAL MATERIALS AND ATTIRE Students need only 4 things for rehearsal: 1) Appropriate Attire: • Shoes: Jazz or tennis shoes or soft soled dance shoes. For safety reasons, students who do not wear appropriate footwear will be asked to sit and watch rehearsal. • Clothes: T-shirt and workout pants (leggings, yoga pants, gym pants/shorts). 2) Actors Book and any other additional papers given to student 3) Pencils with eraser and Highlighter 4) Labeled water bottle and snacks

BREAKS AND SNACKS No scheduled break will be provided for snacks, but children can bring a snack if time permits and they are not working on something specific. Please do not bring snacks that contain peanuts, tree nuts, or any nut products. Bathroom breaks will be provided as needed throughout the rehearsals. I want to note– in the past, we have had to clean up wrappers and food items all over the studio, if we find that they are not cleaning up after themselves after the first couple rehearsals – we will not allow students to bring any snacks to rehearsals.

OFF BOOK DEADLINE Because we have a limited amount of time for Beauty and the Beast – we are asking that All students be mostly off book by the 1st week of rehearsal – June 19th

This is why we are doing our auditions beginning of May (May 6th) so most students have time to memorize once they know their parts. We will give books as soon as you register. “Off Book” means having all role specific lyrics memorized well enough that students don’t need their book in hand.
